7 Indie Places to Visit in 2019

As a new year approaches the question on everyone's lips is "where to go in 2019?"

Here's a quick list of some different & somewhat "indie" suggestions to inspire you this year.

In no particular order...

Arugam Bay, Sri Lanka

Surfer's paradise! A small town with a laid back vibe, oceanfront restaurants & hammocks for days. Utterly dreamy.

St. Barthelémy, Caribbean

This island has made a massive recovery after being one of the worst hit by Hurricane Irma. St. Barth's is back in business... come and be part of it's revival.

Eilat, Israel

Soak up the sun & the history in the beautiful Red Sea Resort of Eilat. Try combining it with a few nights in Jerusalem!

Quintana Roo, Mexico

There's so much more to Mexico's Caribbean Coast than Cancun. Hit up the fabulous resorts of Tulum & Bacalar to discover what all the fuss is about.

Portofino, Italy

One of the most beautiful & elegant places on earth. A sophisticated fishing village lined with exquisite boutiques. Why not visit the world famous Belmond Hotel Splendido? (beware a small glass of house white costs €23. The view is worth every penny!)

Bilbao, Spain

The Guggenheim is only the beginning. This fabulous city is packed full of Michelin-starred restaurants and charming Basque culture. Bilbao is a stone's throw from La Rioja region so you won't struggle to get good wine either!

Kyoto, Japan

Japan is going to be all the rage in 2019 as it is hosting the Rugby World Cup. Why not head away from the crowds to admire the ancient capital of Kyoto. Buddhist Temples, Imperial Gardens, Kaiseki dining & Geisha Culture will leave your soul feeling enriched.

"The world is a book and those who do not travel read only one page"

[St. Augustine of Hippo]

Make 2019 the year where you read at least one new page of this stunning world.
